About Green Arena

Tammy 01 300

Green Arena owner and head guide Tammy Bruce moved to St Arnaud in 2003 to begin her Department of Conservation (DOC) Ranger apprenticeship and fell in love with the place. For the last 6 years she has been working for DOC, 5 years of that in St Arnaud working on the high profiled Rotoiti Nature Recovery Project as a project manager and as a field worker. Tramping (hiking) in the forest here (typically off marked tracks) has been a part of her daily life for years, whether it has been checking stoat traps, monitoring rodent numbers, climbing trees to put cameras in kaka nests, walking around in the middle of the night catching kiwi, or hiking up mountains to search for rare snails Tammy's done it all!

The rest of the Green Arena team are an enthusiastic bunch who share these same values and want to share with you the knowledge they have gained by living in this exquisite area.
